Everyone in South Africa is becoming increasingly
concerned at the level of unlawful and inappropriate behavior
that is taking place in our schools on a daily basis. This
unacceptable behavior takes the form of criminal acts, dishonesty,
sexual abuse, bullying, substance abuse, possession of firearms
and weapons, serious assault and tragically even murder!
SCHOOLSLINE provides all
stakeholders of schools - whether learners, educators, parents
or members of the community - with the opportunity to report
any unacceptable behavior anonymously and confidentially.
The SCHOOLSLINE contact
centre operates 24-hours a day and 7 days a week and its multilingual
agents are able to accept calls in most of SA’s official
languages.
Reports can be sent to the SCHOOLSLINE
contact centre by:
- FreeCall number 0800-SCHOOL;
- by SMS: to 082 673 3333
- by e-mail to school@beheard.co.za;
- via a reporting template on the website
www.beheard.co.za;
- by MaxiCall Fax to 0861-BEHEARD;
or
- via a Freepost address.
Once the SCHOOLSLINE contact
centre has transcribed the report and sanitised it to ensure
that the identity of the person making the report is not compromised,
the report will be sent to a designated person or persons
at the specific school by e-mail. All telephone calls are
digitally recorded and the key details are captured on a database.
Should BE HEARD™
management (in their sole discretion) decide that a report
is urgent and important they will take all reasonable steps
to contact at least one of the designated persons by telephone
as soon as possible.
Should the report concern the designated person it will be
reported to another person - perhaps the chairman of the school
governing body.
Once your school subscribes to BE HEARD™
you will be sent the following at no charge:
- 10 generic A3 size colour posters in the languages
of your choice;
- a Power Point presentation (in either English or Afrikaans);
- and an e-handbook providing tips and guidelines to
ensure that your school derives maximum benefit from the
SCHOOLSLINE service.
BE HEARD™ has a comprehensive
menu of awareness and promotional materials from which each
school can select the materials to promote the service that
best suits their requirements and the culture of their school.
The monthly subscription fee for the service
is R285.00 excluding VAT. There are no hidden
charges and this fee includes all the telephone costs.
You would be required to sign an agreement
for a minimum period of one year.

of the agreement. Should you only sign an agreement for one
year and subsequently decide to continue, the monthly subscription
