Apart from the loss of life and property caused by negligent and irresponsible drivers, companies who operate vehicles are losing millions of Rand annually due to unlawful and inappropriate behavior that is taking place on our roads on a daily basis.

This behaviour takes the form of negligent and dangerous driving, inappropriate behaviour by drivers and crew which damages the companies’ brands and reputations, criminal acts related to cargo and the illegal transporting of passengers.

Losses can also include large sums paid in traffic fines. A further complication has arisen with the implementation of the demerit system which could start costing companies large sums of money as a result of driver turnover!

0800-WHEELS provides members of the public with the opportunity to report any unlawful or unacceptable behaviour anonymously and confidentially.

The BE HEARD™ contact centre operates 24-hours a day and 7 days a week and its multilingual agents are able to accept calls in most of SA’s official languages.

Reports can be sent to the BE HEARD™ contact centre by:

  • FreeCall number 0800-WHEELS (0800-943-357);

  • by SMS to 082-678-7800;

  • by e-mail to wheels@beheard.co.za;

  • via a reporting template on the website - www.beheard.co.za;

  • by Maxicall Fax to 0861-BEHEARD (0861-234-3273); or

  • via a Freepost address.

Once the BE HEARD™ contact centre has transcribed the report and sanitised it to ensure that the identity of the person making the report is not compromised, the report will be sent to a designated person or persons at the specific subscriber organisation by e-mail.

Should BE HEARD™ management (in their sole discretion) decide that a report is urgent and important they will take all reasonable steps to contact at least one of the designated persons by telephone as soon as possible.

Once an organisation subscribes to 0800-WHEELS it will be sent, at no charge an e-handbook providing tips and guidelines to ensure that an organisation derives maximum benefit from the 0800-WHEELS service.

There are three standard sizes of vehicle decals which are available at the following prices which exclude VAT:

  • 300mm x 150mm Non-reflective R15.00

  • 800mm x 400mm Non-reflective R45.00

  • 800mm x 400mm Reflective        R82.50

Decals of any other size and design can be printed on request.

The subscription fee for the service is R10.00 excluding VAT per vehicle per month with a minimum of R300 excluding VAT per organisation per month and a maximum of R5 000 excluding VAT per organisation per month.

There is no once off registration fee, there are no hidden charges and this fee includes all the telephone costs and all reports that are received.

A subscriber is required to sign an agreement for a minimum period of one year. Should an agreement for two or three years be signed the monthly subscription will remain unchanged for the duration of the agreement. Should an agreement be signed for one year and it is subsequently decide to continue, the monthly subscription will increase by 7% for the second and following years.

Payment should be made by debit order on the 1st day of the month in which the service is rendered.

The management of BE HEARD™ has more than ten years experience of operating specialised contact centres such as 0800-WHEELS and can be absolutely relied upon to manage all information with the utmost discretion, confidentiality and professionalism.

All telephone calls are digitally recorded and the key details are captured on a database.

To subscribe to our 0800-WHEELS service, please follow these steps:

  • Print, complete and sign the Subscriber Agreement. (Link to page) Please ensure that you initial the margin next to all text inserted as well as in the right hand bottom corner of all pages.

  • Print, complete and sign the Debit Order Instruction (Link to page).

  • Either scan and e-mail it to mail@beheard.co.za or fax it to 0861-BEHEARD (0861-234-3273).

  • Once we have received these documents we will send you an e-mail confirming your subscription. The decals that you have selected in the subscriber agreement will either be couriered, posted or delivered to you (at the discretion of BE HEARD™).
